“Funk Is Ruling My Head” is the first single from “Together”, the second album by Pitch & Scratch.
When Pitch & Scratch came up with their “Hamburg Hustle” in 2009 it was a revelation. These guys studied the Seventies school of funk and soul, were digging deep in disco roots and knew what a good hiphop beat was all about. Then there was “Everybody Move” with its irresistible party vibe and an ultra-charming video clip, putting smiles on face all around the globe from sportsbars in Australia to lavish cafés in the south of France.
“Together” is a massive step towards the future for Mzuzu and DJ Suro aka Pitch & Scratch. Featuring a big line-up of guest vocalists and musicians, “Funk Is Ruling My Head” serves as the perfect example for this blend of afro, soul, rap and funk. The song has the message in the title and is taking renowned German R&B and soul vocalist Alex Prince back to the basics: A large groove and a smart hookline!
The original version of “Mzuzu Walk”, the highlight from the debut album “Hamburg Hustle”, is exclusive to this format.
